History: The variety was developed by Darrell Kellogg of Redford, Michigan, who received the original seeds from a railroad worker in West Virginia. The seeds had been passed down through the worker's family for several generations, originating from the Appalachian region. Kellogg grew out the variety and shared it with other gardeners, eventually introducing it to the Seed Savers Exchange in the 1990s. The tomato was named "Kellogg's Breakfast" both for its developer and because its sweet, low-acid flavor makes it perfect for enjoying at breakfast.
