Description: This heirloom sets the standard for asparagus! Mary Washington was first introduced in 1919 when many other asparagus varieties were being ravaged by asparagus rust. Incredibly vigorous, resistant to rust, and absolutely delicious! Sure, it takes 2-3 years before you can harvest a good amount of spears, but beds will yield for 20-30 years! One of the first crops in the spring, this is one of our garden favorites! Now is the best time to make the investment and reap the rewards for decades to come!
