Waltham Butternut Squash - Organic
Description: This heirloom might be the most popular winter squash, and for good reason. These three to six pound fruits store wonderfully and taste great. Plants yield well and are generally considered immune to squash vine borer. Tan skin with bright orange flesh and a nutty flavor. Our go to winter squash on our farm. We have had some that lasted until May when the new plants of this variety were already in the garden!

History: Named for the place it was developed- Waltham, MA at the Massachusetts Agricultural Experiment Station by Professor Robert Young. This winter squash was an AAS winner in 1970.
