Black Vernissage Tomato

Description: Indeterminate. These are salad sized tomatoes, two to three ounces, about the size of golf balls. Considered a black tomato, dark mahogany colored fruits come from plants that are quite productive with flavor that is nice and rich. Also great for making sauces, though a bit on the juicy end.

History: Nearly all black tomato varieties come from the area around the Crimean Peninsula in present day Ukraine. ‘Vernissage’ means ‘exhibition of an artistic product’, which it clearly is.
