Flashy Trout Back Lettuce - Organic

Description: This is a romaine type lettuce with leaves that are dark green with lots and lots of dark red speckles. We love the way it looks and tastes and especially the fact it tolerates heat well. It’s one of our favorites and it always has a spot in the garden.

History: This is an Austrian heirloom they call Forellenschluss, which means “speckled like a trout’s back”. It’s been traced back to 1793.
